At the Airport

We arrived to the international airport in Bombay to end up joining a HUGE group of people on Haj. You can see them here in their required clothing. There were people in the bathrooms washing themselves as well as setting up prayer sections in the terminal so they could get in their timely required prayer.

We ended up leaving Bombay two hours late, having a two hour layover in Germany, and arriving in Chicago a little after 5:30pm...an hour later than our scheduled arrival time. Two more hours were spent getting through Immigration, collecting luggage, and going through Customs. Needless to say, we missed our 6pm train back home.

We decided to check into the Hilton hotel at O'Hare. The hotel room was AMAZING. We were soooooooo happy to be back in an American hotel room. We quickly changed and went down to the athletic club for the hotel to sit in the steam room, sauna, and spa for a good hour or two. It felt SOOOO good. The beds were wonderfully soft and helped me go right to sleep. The experience did wonders for our jet lag.

In the morning, we headed out to Union Station and got on the afternoon train back home. Amtrack was right on time. Punctual at every stop. Air India can learn a lot from these people. The drive home was uneventful and I was greeted at home by the kitties! It was great to be home!
