Mark is now more thoughtful, reflective, and wonderfully libertarian
in his political ideals. I'm proud to have such a freedom-loving
friend! Even though we have both evolved into two different people,
I'm pleased to report that we haven't grown apart and I look forward
to many more years of friendship.
Mark recently moved away to Portland, OR to pursue a new life
there. Saying good-bye was tough as the two of us have been through
a lot together and I miss him dearly. I wish him the best of luck
and will try to visit him as often as possible.
** Update (04/09/2001)
** Mark is getting MARRIED! (Gasp!) I just got the news
a few weeks ago (it's taken me a while to update this site).
I'm shocked. I didn't think it was going to happen in my lifetime,
but I'm tickled to death that he's found someone who means that
much to him. Good for you, Mark! Since I haven't gotten her permission,
I'm not posting any information about his bride here yet, but
stay tuned! I'm supposed to be going to the wedding, so if I
can make it out to their place, I'll take a bunch of pictures.
-- Again...Congrats, Mark! :-)
** Update (4/16/2001)
** In an e-mail to me, Mark writes:
"... In the mean time
not the fact that I too do not own a TV. TV is direct mind programming,
given to millions of Americans by hundreds of producers that
answer to less than 40 media owners. You may edit that for clarity
and quote me if you wish.
I have finished six weeks of
a 18 month degree completion program at George Fox University.
I will graduate with a BS in Management and Business Information
Systems (MBIS) degree.
I just read again your summary
or our friendship on you page, and it cracked me up. I miss you
old friend!
More to come."
Thanks, Mark...I look forward to your next communication. The
TV comment stems from the fact that I did not own a TV for about
5 years. I recently bought a TV/VCR combo as I discovered that
I was having difficulty keeping up with the news, sports, and other
programs that I DO find useful. When I do watch TV, I mostly watch
PBS as they seem to be the only station with anything worthwhile.
So He Finally
Gets Married...
Quite to my amazement, Mark has found a woman who will have
him! (Just kidding, Bud...you know I have to tease you.)
I was fortunate enought to get invited out to be a witness
to this event. Miraculously, I managed to reschedule most
of my client meetings and took some time off of work to take
my first trip to the west coast. I have to tell you that
Oregon is a most beautiful state and it certainly was an
appropriate venue for this event. (7/28/2001) |

Update - September 2001 - Mark writes:
:"...we hiked Mount Adams
in Washington. We hiked from 5000 feet to 7000 feet. At 7000
feet we found a mini glacier. The large glaciers were many hundreds
of feet higher and we were not equipped to go higher..."
He also attached the following two photographs taken from that
trip. Isn't the view spectacular? Thanks guys...
Update - December 2002 - Mark Graduates!
After YEARS of hard work, Mark has finally
graduated with his college degree from George Fox University.
He graduated with a BS in Management and Business Information
Systems (MBIS). I really don't think I could be more proud of
him! I owe a special thanks to his wife, Jessica for all of her
support in this endeavor since I couldn't be there personally
to kick his butt when he got unmotivated or lazy.
I also got the coolest Christmas card from them
this year. I scanned it in and included it below. Pictured are
Mark, his wife, and their dog Dagny (yes....just like my cat!
The man has taste!)
